Craig and Joyce Hettrich

The Hettrich Group

Founders Story

My wife Joyce and I did not launch The Hettrich Group with the idea of developing a process and system for being an effective leader.   In mid 2015, after a over 30 year career in leading four Food Companies we realized our Core Purpose was to help CEOs, Leadership Teams and Family members to reach their full potential.  In 2016 The Hettrich Group was born.

We started out forming a CEO Peer Group Company, and then we became Certified and Professional EOS Implementers (based upon the book Traction)  After several years leading CEO Peer Groups and EOS Implementations, we realized that the vast majority of companies with 10-125 employees, have not put their teams through leadership training programs or their leaders have different philosophies or no philosophies on how to lead and manage.

This led to some not-so-good practices of leading direct reports such as being over judgmental in providing performance feedback.  In some cases, avoiding giving performance feedback in other situations and providing unclear or even no expectations. Many leaders avoid Course Correcting Conversations because they are afraid to hurt feelings or dislike conflict.  Overlooking employee feedback can damage the leader-employee relationship, and not providing the needed corrective feedback can lead to a lack of accountability; neither outcome will build a strong, winning culture.

In addition, in some companies, Leadership Team members have read different or no books on how to be an effective leader, which can lead to inconsistencies and dysfunction.  As a Certified EOS Implementer, (The Entrepreneurial Operating System) we have witnessed the power of adopting one highly effective and cohesive Operating system.

EOS is spaced learning; in other words, it takes time and repetition to build competencies and effectiveness in mastering the EOS Operating System…but when you do, it has game-changing results!  Effective Leadership should follow the same systems approach.

Having a front-row seat and seeing companies grow before our very eyes has been very rewarding. There is consistently one key ingredient missing, though, and it is the aforementioned lack of training or the dysfunctional approach to leading their team members. Poor leadership practices can lead to morale issues, a decline in productivity and high turnover.  This can prevent a company from breaking through the ceiling and significantly impact its ability to grow and scale.

All of the above is why we created The ArcUp Leadership System. ArcUp is a system that will instill the best practices of leading in all of your team and ensure they will be engrained in their everyday Leadership style..  This is accomplished via a Workshop, follow up coaching sessions, online learning portal and certification.
